Thrissur (Pakal) Pooram festival begins

The festivities and rituals of the Thrissur Pooram festival commenced today with the hoisting of the flag. The Poorm will culminate on May 12 at the Thekkinkad maidan in front of the Vadakkumnathan temple, Thrissur, Kerala.
