Eleven men in Blue! They have done not only India proud but have united the country like never before.
The Indian Cricket team led by Dhoni, by beating Pakistan in the World Cup semi-final at Mohali has filled more than a billion hearts with pride.
It is often said that Cricket is a religion. How right. It is indeed more than a religion. How else can one explain how it has united people from all regions – Hindus, Muslims, Christians Sikhs and Parsis.
If ever there was one occasion where there were no religious or class barriers, it was during this world cup semi-final.
The high and the mighty rubbed shoulders with the common man to cheer the Indian cricketers and celebrate the victory in unison.
We need more such events to unite this great country and march ahead as one.
